The road to riches will be much longer if you don't sell now!

Phase three of my dream plan is mostly about mastering sales. If you have any desire to earn from your creation, then you have to learn about sales. You want to become a master at sales as well as your dream.

When you begin building your dream, no one knows about you. No one really knows what you do. No one trusts you. Honestly, no one cares at this point. So, you have to be known.

There are some misguided beliefs about reaching the people we desire to serve.

The whole idea of "build it and they will come" is a feel good story; it's not reality. Oh, if it were that easy!

The other idea is "quality sells itself." This is another deception. If this were true you could slap "high quality" on the label and watch the millions roll in. High quality is something a person experiences AFTER they buy the product! Quality only works for sales long AFTER you build a well known brand.

The major problem with these misguided ideas is they cause you to assume sales are automatic. If you believe sales are automatic then you to not spend any time building your selling skills.

You might have a great product but if people don't know about it and you don't explain your product convincingly and they don't trust you, then you will miss your full potential.

I should have put sales in phase one of my plan, but I was thinking in sequential logic. I needed something a value to sell. That seems like a reasonable belief. But the solo dream builder needs to include sales at the beginning. When you try to sell something, things get real. Especially when you don't get any sales, month after month.

If you have any desire to earn from your creation, then take sales seriously. Sell now. Or sell as early as possible.
