Plan for Success and Budget for Discouragement

By: jwilder, 11/11/2021

Plan for success and budget for discouragement. Both are going to happen.

It's hard to keep a consistent emotional state. At least I haven't been able to. Discouragement is always prepared to show up.

You might make slow progress one day and great progress on other days. Then discouragement shows up. Discouragement can be like a brief thunderstorm or a strong tornado producing storm. The best thing you can do is to take shelter until it passes. That's just the reality of life.

The secret to dealing with discouragement is clarity. Clarity is the enemy of discouragement. The more clarity you have on your goals and your purpose, the less discouragement can affect you. You might have to slow down, or stop until the storm passes, but it will pass, and you can get back up to speed.
